What is Beltane?
What is Beltane?
It is the Gaelic May Day festival. It is held on May 1st, or about halfway between the spring equinox and summer solstice. Historically, it was widely observed throughout Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man.
People and their cattle would walk around or between bonfires, and sometimes leap over the flames or embers. All household fires would be doused and then re-lit from the Beltane bonfire. These gatherings would be accompanied by a feast, and some of the food and drink would be offered to the fae.
Ways to celebrate:
Set up an altar with Spring things (flowers, May pole, crystals, etc)
Gather some flowers
Have a bonfire
Wear a flower crown
Dress in green
Take a ritual bath
Leave offerings for the fae
Have a picnic
This year I am going to have a ritual bath with crystals, oils and flower petals. Leave some offerings for the fae and do some candle magick later (instead of a bonfire).

Blessed Beltane!
